September Goals & August Favorites

I can't remember exactly when I posted my last favorites post, but I know it's been a while since writing up my goals for all of the blogosphere to witness me failing said goals. I think that may be why I stopped writing the posts in the first place. It's also the reason why I wasn't sure about posting today. Then I realized I was not doing something out of fearing I'd fail way before I even had the chance to fail, and well, that just sounded ridiculous.

Sending More Love Letters

I was so excited when I started my little newsletter in May, and not that I'm not still excited to have one, but I haven't been consistent with it at all these past few months. And I so love talking to you all via email where you can respond directly back to me and I feel like I'm just chatting with my girlfriends instead of writing a post that has to have a point and purpose and all that.

Being a Good Blogger

which really could be summed up in a single word: commenting. I'm such a shit commenter. Time just slips away from me and then I'm rushing to post and then it's so damn late, and ugh! But I started last night and I'm making a conscious effort this month. On that note, I'd also like to schedule things ahead sometimes, instead of pumping out late night posts. Like this one. At midnight. 

Write Yo Damn Novel

Seriously, girl. This has been on your goals list since October of last year. I did edit the first 5 chapters or so recently, so small victories, but still. It's almost embarrassing how little progress I've made on getting closer to my first full draft. I use to wonder why author's would say it took them years to finish a book. I get it now. 

Respond to Emails & Texts

It's not that I don't respond at all. I just respond really late because I get them, glance to see if it's important but then go back to finish up what I'm doing real quick and forget them. So now I'm exercising the "respond as soon as you read" approach. 

Restarting Fitness

A few months ago, I was kicking fitness's ass. But recently, working out has been winning, and I need to get it together. Technically, I've already started on this during August, but in September, I'm all about it again. I have a goal to reach by the new year, and I damn-near had a heart attack when I realized just how close that was. Argh!

August's Favorites

Book: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Is it really any surprise that I loved yet another book by Rainbow Rowell. That makes it 3 for 3 that I absolutely love from her. I swear she can do no wrong. Rainbow is definitely my favorite author at the moment. A tall order, but nonetheless she's fills it perfectly.

TV Show: Sherlock

Sherlock, Sherlock, f*cking Sherlock. I spent this past week trying to ration the very few episodes of this show like an addict negotiating the morphine drip button. This wasn't a new discovery. I knew a loved this show 3 years ago when I binge-watched two episodes (that's 4 hours), but despite the budding obsession, I was in law school and couldn't continue. But this time, the obsession caught hold and Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Cumberbatch.
